Josue Gaverza, Jr. was the valedictorian and Marcelina Lim was the salutatorian and at the same time the All Round Girl for college preparatory. Honorable mentions were Lea Avance, Nancy Diaz, Mae Dabandan, Francisco Pagdato, Teresa Java, Ma. Luisa Valladolid, Ma. Teresa Baguio, and May Sorongon in their orders. The officers of the senior council were Josue Gaverza, Jr. as president, Marcelina Lim was the vice-president, Marilou Castro was the secretary, Lucia Gumapas was the treasurer, Anthony Firmalino was the auditor, Jose Bico was the business manager and Gracia Guerero was the P.R.O. The secretary of education was Juan Manuel, Narciso Albarracin the undersecretary of education, Dr. Liceria Soriano was director of public school, Dr. Clodoaldo Leocadio was assistant director of Public Schools, Aurelio Juele was the division superintendent of schools, Ramon Millamgue was the assistant division superintendent of schools, Mrs. Crispina A. Quino was the principal.

ReplyDeleteHi Jimmy! Yes, that Adviser of the IHS Student Council at that time was your beloved father, "Sir Tabanao". I still remember him. As I've said to you before, I remember him as a gentle giant. He was soft spoken and was very patient with all of us every time we held council meetings. You and your brother Johnny come from "good stock".

ReplyDeleteI meet Fermin in early 2000 it's a Town Fiesta in Nva, Valencia,Guimaras and a show at ShoeMart and paid my cooffee.
Yes, Fermin is a true blood IHS alumnus. He was always kind to our batch. His younger brother Agustin, our batch mate, was a fun person that I can remember.
